Elias Ortiz

Elias Ortiz is the Lead Investigator for the Federal Public Defender Office of the Western District of Michigan. He graduated from Grand Valley State with a B.S. Degree in Legal Administration and attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He taught in the Davenport College Paralegal Program and guest lectured at various local high schools and GVSU. Eli began his investigator career with Michigan Migrant Legal Assistance Project before joining the Kent County Defender Officeas a staff investigator. He eventually worked for local private investigation firms before opening his own litigation support office where he specialized in indigent criminal defense investigations.
